Kao uže područje istraživanja odabrana je tema SOA razvojne metode za informacijske sustave u energetskom sektoru. Metode razvoja informacijskih sustava su već nekoliko desetljeća tema iscrpnog istraživanja. Štoviše, dostupan je čitavi niz konvencionalnih metoda koje su u primjeni već mnogo godina, te su dosegli visoki stupanj zrelosti. Međutim, paradigma SOA nameće neke nove i svojstvene zahtjeve na razvojni ciklus informacijskog sustava, te se stoga u posljednjih nekoliko godina provode istraživanja s ciljem razvoja metoda koje će pokriti te specifične zahtjeve. SOA razvojne metode su uglavnom općeg karaktera, odnosno nisu posebno prilagođene za informacijske sustave pojedinih problemskih domena. Svaka problemska domena nameće neke nove i svojstvene zahtjeve. Stoga je naglasak istraživanja odnosno teme bio upravo na realizaciji nove SOA razvojne metode posebno usmjerene prema informacijskim sustavima u energetskom sektoru. Prikladnost predložene metode ilustrirala se na energetskom sustavu Hrvatske. - KLJUČNE RIJEČI: uslužno usmjerena arhitektura, SOA, upravljanje poslovnim procesom, BPM, razvojna metoda, informacijski sustav, energetski sektor, višekriterijska analiza For the focus field of research, a topic regarding SOA development method for the information systems in energy sector was chosen. Information systems development methods have been a topic of a comprehensive research for decades. Furthermore, many of the conventional methods are available that are in application for many years now, and have reached high maturity level. Nonetheless, SOA paradigm adds some new and specific requirements to the information systems development cycle, which brought the research in the last couple of years towards the method that can fulfill these specific requirements. SOA development methods are mainly of general character, i.e. they are not specifically customized for information systems of any particular problem domain. Each problem domain adds some new and specific requirements. Consequently, the emphasis of research was on the realization of a new SOA development method uniquely targeted towards information systems in the energy sector.
